The New Union Glashütte Noramis Date Deutschland Classic 2025

The brand continues to celebrate automotive heritage through subtle yet compelling dial design.

Union Glashütte keeps delighting automotive and watch enthusiasts with its Noramis Date Deutschland Klassik editions, each year’s release themed around classic wheel designs in partnership with the ADAC Deutschland Classic vintage car rally. Following the 2023 Otto Fuchs Porsche-inspired model and the 2024 BBS‐RS rim tribute, the 2025 limited edition returns with a new aesthetic that nods to another iconic automobile part, the classic Gullideckel, or the manhole cover rim, standard on many cars in the 1980s, and in particular sports Mercedes-Benz models.

The new Union Glashütte Noramis Date Deutschland Classic 2025 is housed in a 40mm stainless steel case with brushed and polished surfaces, measuring 10.4mm in thickness. A domed sapphire crystal covers the dial, while the caseback is see-through by default, though the watch also comes with a solid stainless steel medallion caseback engraved with a map of Germany, which marks both Heidelberg, the starting point of the 2025 Deutschland Klassik rally, running through North Baden this year, and Glashütte, the home of the brand.

The silver dial replicates the design of the Gullideckel rim with rectangular cutouts around the periphery and five tiny screws at the centre, evoking wheel nuts. A black railway-style minute track rings the dial, and the hands are black, lance-shaped, and tipped with white Super-LumiNova for legibility in low light. A framed date window sits at 6 o’clock, integrated cleanly into the layout – differently placed than the 2024 BBS‐RS rim tribute.

Inside beats Union’s calibre UNG-07.S1, an upgraded version of the ETA 2892. Fitted with a silicon balance spring for improved magnetic resistance and long-term stability, it operates at 25,200 vibrations/hour, offers a 60-hour power reserve, and has a hacking seconds function. The watch comes fitted with a black calfskin strap featuring contrast stitching and diamond-pattern embossing, reminiscent of vintage sports car seats, adding another bit of retro charm to this automotive-inspired timepiece. It is closed by a folding clasp.

Produced to just 200 pieces, the Noramis Date Deutschland Classic 2025 Limited Edition is available at selected retailers for EUR 2,780. For more information, please visit Union-Glashuette.com.

  1. Make the railway track right, this looks like it was copied and pasted from another watch with a different design. Then big date, or no date.
I like this brand but they always fall short on these details.
