The new Armin Strom Gravity Equal Force Ultimate Sapphire Rose Gold adds a refined, luxurious reference to the brand’s Gravity Equal Force line. First introduced in 2019, the collection debuted with the groundbreaking Gravity Equal Force System 78, the world’s first automatic wristwatch with a stop-work declutch mechanism and Geneva cross inside the barrel, designed to deliver consistent torque and chronometric precision across the entire power reserve. Since then, the series has evolved through variants in steel and titanium, the openworked Ultimate Sapphire editions, not to forget a special collaboration with MONOCHROME for the Maillechort-dial Montre de Souscription 3, all staying true to Armin Strom’s “Mechanics First” philosophy.
This latest 2025 version shifts the aesthetic focus with a different, more precious look. While this is not the first time Armin Strom uses a gold and copper alloy to make the case for the Gravity Equal Force, this new iteration looks and feels warmer. The familiar-design 41mm case, crafted from 18k rose gold, measures 12.65mm thick and 48.09mm lug-to-lug. Alternating brushed and polished finishes enhance the watch’s architectural lines, while sapphire crystals with anti-reflective coatings showcase the movement.
An off-centre sapphire time dial with an integrated small seconds subdial features rhodium-plated pink gold hands filled with Super-LumiNova. The mainplate in brown PVD, framing the contrasting gear train and barrel, is decorated with a hand-turned guilloché “grain d’orge” pattern by Kari Voutilainen. The subtle power reserve indicator is discreetly positioned between 4 and 5 o’clock.
Inside is Armin Strom’s in-house Calibre ASB19, an advanced automatic movement featuring a micro-rotor and the patented stop-work declutch mechanism. This system regulates the torque from the mainspring to ensure constant force delivery, resulting in reliable performance throughout its 72-hour power reserve. The movement beats at 25,200 vibrations/hour and is beautifully hand-finished with Geneva stripes, polished bevels, perlage, black-polished screws and circular brushing, true to Armin Strom’s haute horlogerie standards.
The watch is worn on a matte brown nubuck leather strap with beige stitching and secured with a rose gold pin buckle. Limited to 20 pieces per year, the Gravity Equal Force Ultimate Sapphire Rose Gold is priced at CHF 39,400 before taxes. For more information, please visit arminstrom.com.
