The NYC-Special Hublot Big Bang Meca-10 Concrete Jungle

Hublot celebrates the vibrant city of New York by launching a piece that reflects its vibes and images.

Hublot’s Big Bang Meca-10 series was first introduced in 2016, and since then, the line has been known for its original design and 240-hour power reserve and an in-house movement that exposes its mechanism through a skeletonized display. Over the years, the series has been interpreted in various materials and sizes, including titanium, ceramic, carbon and gold, each reinforcing the image of the Meca-10, adapting to different visual and tactile identities. Concrete, favoured by architects and designers for its texture and versatility, was added to the list of materials used by the fusion-forward brand for its watches in 2016 (bezel of the Classic Fusion Aerofusion Concrete Jungle), then in 2020, Hublot presented the Classic Fusion Concrete Jungle New York, which featured a concrete case and dial. For 2025, Hublot introduces a new edition of the Concrete Jungle, maintaining the DNA of the Meca-10.

The new Big Bang Meca-10 Concrete Jungle is essentially the same watch as the original Big Bang Meca-10, with its 44mm by 15.3mm case and bezel with six visible titanium screws made from concrete, with the micro-blasted titanium caseback. The crown is also in titanium, satin-finished and featuring a black rubber ring for better grip. Water resistance is at 50m.

The dial is openworked, showcasing the manual-wind HUB1201 manufacture calibre in all its industrial glory. Bridges, wheels, and power reserve indicators are exposed, reinforcing the mechanical spirit of the watch. The hour and minutes hands and indices offer a cohesive design and are treated with lume. A small seconds display is at 9 o’clock and the 10-day power reserve indicator is at 6. Red accents on the power reserve contrast with the monochrome overall aesthetic, and the dial layout is asymmetrical yet perfectly readable.

Powering the watch is the in-house HUB1201 hand-wound movement, which offers 10-day autonomy via twin parallel barrels. This calibre beats at 21,600 vibrations/hour and is a technical highlight of the Meca-10 series.  The new Big Bang Meca-10 Concrete Jungle is worn on a grey fabric strap with Velcro, with an additional black structured rubber strap with a black titanium deployant buckle included with the purchase.

The Hublot Big Bang Meca-10 Concrete Jungle is priced at USD 34,100. For more details, visit hublot.com.
