The New Artya Purity Wavy HMS Mirror in Titanium
A curvaceous titanium case hosts the Stairway to Heaven movement and features a mirror on the caseback to enhance the illusion of depth.

Founded by Yvan Arpa in 2010, ArtyA is synonymous with avant-garde, wildly creative watches, some early models flaunting unconventional raw materials like butterfly wings and real bullets. However, this independent brand’s latest direction is far more restrained and minimalist, with elegant, skeletonised movements often showcased in transparent sapphire crystal cases congregated in the Purity Collection. The latest Purity model comes in a newly styled titanium case – with a twist. Known as the Artya Purity Wavy HMS Mirror, the novelty for 2025 is the mirror on the caseback. Not only does it draw light into the movement and increase the sensation of depth, but it also hides wrist hair.
The funky new Wavy 40mm titanium case with a thickness of 13mm, designed by Jérémie Arpa, Yvan Arpa’s son, has a curvaceous aerodynamic presence with downward curving contours. Finished with a matte microbead frosting and a transparent protective DLC coating, the mirror-polished bevel running the length of the case flank accentuates the curvilinear forms of the case.
The new model shares the same manual-winding movement featured in the fully transparent sapphire case and the steel model. Developed and manufactured with high-end movement specialist Telos in La Chaux-de-Fonds, the architectural openworked movement relies on two parallel barrels placed around the crown and an intriguing, suspended 4Hz escapement. Referred to as the Stairway to Heaven, the escapement is surmounted by a bridge composed of three arced and hand-bevelled tiers on the left. The twin barrels reveal their springs, which can give an idea of the winding state, and they provide a consistent driving force with a 72-hour power reserve.
According to the brand, this is their first watch to feature a mirror caseback. Viewed from above, the mirror creates an even greater illusion of depth, and the movement seems to float in space. While the caseback does not expose the movement like it does in other models, the reverse side of the mirror offers a slightly ghostly opaque view of the mechanics.
Time is read with the sword-shaped central hands, and the minutes and hours are laser-engraved on the underside of the sapphire crystal. The Purity Wavy Titanium Mirror is a limited edition of 99 pieces. It can be ordered with an alligator or nubuck leather strap and comes with an ArtyA pin buckle.
The Artya Purity Wavy HMS Mirror, excluding taxes, retails for CHF 25,900, EUR 27,900 or USD 29,900. More information at artya.com.
