Postponed to make way for the complex Stargazer, the Masks are finally here to stage a show.

Independent watchmaker Konstantin Chaykin adds two more watch models to his acclaimed Wristmons collection: the Joker Iron Mask and Joker Golden Mask. These latest creations evolve the Joker concept through an open-dial design that merges theatrical inspiration with traditional watchmaking finishes. Konstantin Chaykin first explored open-dial Wristmons in 2020, debuting the idea with the unique Martian Tourbillon for Only Watch 2021. A year later, the skeleton dial returned in the Joker 5, marking five years since the original Joker. Chaykin developed a new open-dial variant, later evolving into the Joker Golden Mask and Joker Iron Mask, introduced in 2023. Full production began in 2025, following delays caused by the development of his complex Stargazer Wristmon.

Both variants of the new Konstantin Chaykin Joker, the Masks, are housed in a stainless steel case with a distinctive bezel, a two-crown design, a domed sapphire crystal on the front, and a flat sapphire display caseback. The case measures 40mm in diameter and 12.78mm thick; its design highlights the movement while offering a clear view of the mechanical dial layout.

The skeletonised dial is centred around Chaykin’s signature Joker module, featuring rotating discs for hours and minutes indicated by blued steel rings resembling pupils and a hand with a red window-shaped tip that tracks the day of the week along a curved aperture below. Decorative bridges shaped like eyebrows and a ruby-set “nose” enhance the expressive, mask-like appearance. The bridges are finished with a frosted texture: gold-plated on the Golden Mask and rhodium-plated on the Iron Mask.

Both models are powered by the calibre K.09-1, based on La Joux-Perret’s G200 automatic movement. It delivers 68 hours of autonomy and runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour. The rotor is skeletonised and coated to match each watch’s colour theme.

Each model is paired with a black alligator strap and a steel buckle crafted by Chaykin. The Joker Iron Mask and Joker Golden Mask are produced in limited quantities, with no more than 100 watches to be produced each year. Both are priced at CHF 40,800.
